ratchet screw

anyone have any tips or tricks on trying to get the ratchet screw off that just wont budge? Thanks

Those ratchet wheel screws can have left-handed threads. Are there parallel cuts to either side of the screw slot? If so, I'm pretty sure that this denotes left-handers. Usually if you're using a screwdriver that's getting good "purchase" in the slot, it should come loose unless it's rusted. Did you try turning it clockwise to loosen it?
